Why would someone do this?

Last week Chris and I had a surprise visit from my (former) best friend Charlene and her boyfriend Jason. Everything was going good, we were having a good time. Chris and I told them that they could stay as long as they needed. While they were here, they tried to pawn a bunch of electronics "so that they could get home," and Jason was sick and had to go to the clinic, the doc diagnosed him with Vertigo and prescribed dome meds. On Friday, Chris and I went To Dawson Creek to get me some new bras. While we were there (we had been there for maybe 20 minutes already) I got a call, from Charlene, on my cell. I couldn't understand most of what she said, the only wordsd I could uderstand were "we'll meet you in 20 minutes to give back your house keys." I gave her my key in case they went out.
10 minutes later we met them in the parking lot, she gave me my key, took some pics of me with her camera, and left.
Chris and I got home 45 minutes later (which is how long it takes to get from Fort St. John to Dawson Creek) . As soon as we walked in Chris went to the desk where his camera is kept, and said "where's my camera?!" When he said that, something in my head clicked and I looked over to where my camera was kept, on the counter near the table, and it was gone. We checked the house for anything else that was missing, and we discoverd that not only were our 2 digital cameras gone, but Chris' old camera, that we kept as a web cam, was gone as well as his laptop.
Chris' old camera was behind the monitor underneath a pile of stuff, and the laptop was in the hall closet underneath a backpack and Chris' jacket. (the laptop is in a laptop-backpack case)
As we were taking inventory of our stuff, Alex was getting in the way so I put him down for a nap. When I got up to his room, I discovered that his blinds had been disturbed. Then yesterday, Chris went into Alex' closet and discovered that things had been moved around, and that the brand new rubber roll-out keyboard, (for a computer) that we got for Alex, is also gone.

The stuff that was stolen from my house are just material objects, but what has bothered me the most (until yesterday) is that she was my best friend. Now what bothers me the most is that THEY WENT THROUGH MY SON'S BEDROOM!!!

The funny thing is, they left in such a hurry that jason left his msn open on our computer and Charlene left her wallet!!!!!!

Anyways, ttyl

Hello

Wow it's been a while. Alex is almost 23 months old now, how the time speeds away.
Last week at the doctors office I saw a little baby girl, she had be around a week old, and I wished that Alex was still that small. I'm not saying that he's not great anymore, but there are times that I wish he was still small and soley dependant on me again. I miss that! He's starting to talk more, he's got more words and he can identify most animals (whether it be by word or the noise it makes). If he can't say the animal, he'll make the noise that the animal makes. It's good for a laugh, and he's quite proud of it!

Ostin has discovered his reflection in the sliding glass doors. Our attention at night is often averted from the t.v. to the cat who's jumping around and trying to attack the cat in the reflection.

Work for Chris has slowed down a lot. Mainly because the rigs and camps can't do very much moving, it's so muddy, so everything has to wait until the ground starts to get firm again. They call it "spring break up." So now we're looking at going down to Kamloops in late May/early June. I'm kinda bummed about that, but hey what can ya do when the money's tight!!!

The snow was finally melting (for a while). It's now back around -15 again, apparently the negative weather is only supposed to last a few days and then it'll start getting warm again.
I can't wait to take Alex to the park. He can walk, so the phrase "Let's go the park" will have a whole different meaning for him! I can't wait!!!
